Episode 1 - April
[back to episode list]
At the start of this episode the bottle fairies
read out the month it takes place in, being April. This happens at the start
of almost all the episodes with the content of it focuses towards the events
that happen in Japan
during those months. It is probably work mentioning here that they are four
bottle fairies Chiriri, Kururu,
Sarara and Hororo, you
can read information about them in each of there sections.
Being the fist episode, each of the bottle
fairies are introduced by name as they cutely climb out of there little
bottles. Each fairy has a different color associated with them and there
bottles match this color. Sensei-san is leaving to go to his school entrance ceremony
and the fairies want to find out more about what this ceremony is. They play imagining
what could be involved in such a ceremony which, as usually is the case, is quite
different from what a real school ceremony is like. This also serves to
introduce some of the character traits of each of the fairies.
The fairies uncover one of the plastic toys
inside a little plastic capsule (like in a Kinder Surprise egg). Inside it
they find a note that it is called Oboro-chan a
winged cat on an endless mission to revenge its mothers
death and asks they help it in any way they can. Wanting to help, the fairies
cast a magic spell to bring Oboro-chan to life
however he doesn’t do much but fly around a little.
After a break to eat they go and see Tama-chan, a elementary school girl
that lives in the house next door that the fairies look to for information
about the world. They ask her about the ceremony but, since she doesn’t
know anything about it herself she convinces them not to ask about it again
(She warns ghost will appear which scares Chiriri a
lot).
Tama-chan tells them
the more important thing to be thinking about in April is "o-hananami" or flower watching (The cherry blossom
trees in Japan).
Then Chiriri and Kururu
amusingly mistake this for nose watching ('hana' is
the same work for 'flower' and 'nose' in Japanese) before Tama-chan explains it to them. Now the fairies play at what
they think you would do while watching the cherry blossoms with ideas like
avoiding the drunks and an outdoor karaoke.
Sensei-san then arrives home and the
bottle fairies recall tell him about the adventures they had during the day.
The episode finishes shortly after that with Sensei-san tucking them in to
sleep.
