The dice used for the game contains words which the faries spell out stepping once for each slylable in the word. The tasks on the squares include both tradiational new years tasks and some normal fun games for them to play. Sarara landing on the 'spinning top' square and pulls the belt on Chiriri Kimono to send her spinning like a top. Hororo is lucky enough to land on squares for lazy ways to spend the new year such as sleeping through it.
Another square has the bottle fairies visit a shrine and get fortunes for the upcoming year. Three of the faries get good luck fortunes for the next year but poor Chiriri gets a bad luck fortune. There wishs for the new year is to be become humans with the exception of Hororo who wants to eat lots of eat tofu. They try visiting a hot spring and a dip in cold water for other ways to spend the new year.
Hororo lands on a Areobics square where the bottle faries do a new years work out. However somehow this turns into a murder incident with Hororo investigation Chiriri for the knocking off oboro-chan. In the end the bottle faires end up in jail but as the walls fall down Tama-chan points out that they are in fact on the end square having finished the game. Sensei-san returns to find Tama-chan and the faries asleep next to the game as the faries dreaming about becoming human. |
This episode takes place on the first day of new year starting with new years greetings from the Sensei-san and the faries. Sensei-san goes through the new years cards he has recieved showing them to the bottle faries including one from Tama-chan. When Tama-chan arrives and gives her new years greeting he tells the bottle faires about the importance of spending new years day properly to prepare for the rest of the year. She has a prepared a board game for them to play to help them spend the day properly. 
Landing on one of the squares Kururu and Chiriri play against each other at a card game called Kurata with both plays trying to find a card related to a sylable of a poem read by Sarara. Chiriri wins easily to Kururus disappointment especially since it was her who landed on the square. After landing on a kite flying square Sarara is attached to a little kite and hung up flying. She is attacked by an octopus but Tama-chan is on hand to capture it and plans to boil it.
